Queen Creek has big plans for the future!

The Town of Queen Creek has done an excellent job with the future plans for the city. Queen Creek is a young town, it was incorporated in 1989. Currently the population is 33,649 but they expect the population to double in the next 10 years to over 70,000!

With that population growth comes needs and wants from its community. The Town Center has been highly invested in and has brought  name brand food places and big box stores. Their hope is to also recruit local small businesses and restaurants/shops. One such local business that is planned to open Spring 2017 is a brewery on the South East Corner of Ellsworth and Ocotillo. They are really searching for a hotel to open in the next 1-2 years which is desperately needed. The closest hotel is in Mesa north of the Phx/Mesa Airport.

Queen Creek’s Niche is what they call Agritourism or Agritainment. They focus heavily on the farms located in Queen Creek and work with the owners to bring awareness and family fun to the farms. Some of these locations include Sossaman Farms ( who is partnering with Hayden Flour mills to create great grains and hope to open a store and restaurant in the future), Schnepf Farms which offers “you pick it” fresh gardens, Chili and Pumpkin Festivals, Ice Skating Rink, Wedding Venues, Drive In Movies and their newest venture- Glamping ( camping in a windstream trailer onsite). The Olive Mill is also a very popular destination with olive mill tours, a tasty restaurant, gift shop, and live music and festivals throughout the year. The Equestrian Center holds rodeos, horse shows and antique market festivals.

One of the town’s goals is to connect the 2 washes shown above to hopefully create an 11 mile loop which will allow people to bike or walk non stop without having to worry about traffic.

This Link will lead you to the site plans throughout the area. If you click on tab 5 or 6, then The Learn More button and then the 2nd dot in the middle of the page, there is a cool video that shows what they think the town will look like in the future. I wish I could just copy the link directly for you, but their website doesn’t let me do that.

As you can see, the Town of Queen Creek is on the path to success. The housing market is strong in the area, and the commercial and entertainment areas are improving.
